Joan was THE role model for us all in the DoDDS language arts program. I treasure the friendship Joan and I shared.
May God rest her soul, as I know He will!

Ms. Gibbons was the most memorable teacher I had when I attended Frankfurt American High School from 1963-1965. I was a chronic underachiever (why I was in Advanced Placement classes remains one of life's mysteries) but Ms. Gibbons put up with me anyway. She instilled a love for literature and writing that remains with me until this day.

One of my most treasured memories was singing baritone to her soprano at a school concert held in the rotunda by the Melloteens, our school's select singing group (and probably the only reason she put up with me!). I could hardly remember the words I was so amazed at the quality of her voice.

We will all miss you Ms. Gibbons. Rest in peace.

Miss Gibbons taught me how to read, think, analyze and write a cohereny essay. She included the teaching of logic in her A/P English classes at Frankfurt High. I owe her more than I can say. John Fullenkamp FAHS '64
